Compliance Checklist for UAE Laws

Vesselglobe complies with Ajman Free Zone Authority (AFZA) regulations and applicable Federal UAE laws.

Commercial Licensing and Regulatory Compliance

Vesselglobe, operating under the jurisdiction of the Ajman Free Zone Authority (AFZA), shall ensure that its commercial license, whether held as a Free Zone Company (FZCO) or Sole Proprietorship, remains valid, up to date, and accurately reflects all business activities undertaken, including but not limited to e-commerce, operation of a digital platform, and maritime services brokerage or facilitation. Vesselglobe shall at all times comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations issued by AFZA governing licensing, business operations, and corporate conduct.

Compliance with Data Protection and Privacy Laws

Vesselglobe shall ensure full compliance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "UAE Data Protection Law") and any related regulations.

All personal data processed through the platform shall be handled lawfully and securely, in line with the principles of data minimisation, purpose limitation, and confidentiality.

Specifically, Vesselglobe shall:

  1. Establish a lawful basis for data processing;
  2. Obtain valid user consent where required;
  3. Respect data subject rights, including access, correction, and erasure;
  4. Implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures;
  5. Comply with breach notification obligations; and
  6. Ensure cross border data transfers, including remote administrative access, meet legal requirements.

Where applicable, Vesselglobe shall also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and its Privacy Policy shall reflect all relevant obligations under both UAE and EU data protection laws.

Compliance with Commercial Transactions Law

Vesselglobe shall ensure that all commercial activities conducted or facilitated through its platform are in accordance with Federal Law No. (18) of 1993 Concerning the Commercial Transactions Law, as amended.

 Compliance with Maritime Commercial Law

Vesselglobe shall operate in full compliance with the provisions of Federal Law No. (26) of 1981 Concerning the Maritime Commercial Law, as amended. The platform functions solely as a digital intermediary facilitating connections between users and shall not be construed, under any circumstances, as acting in the capacity of a “carrier,” “shipper,” “freight forwarder,” or “broker” within the meaning of the law. Vesselglobe does not assume any obligations or liabilities arising from vessel ownership, registration, chartering, or the carriage of goods or persons by sea.

All maritime related transactions conducted through the platform are solely between the respective users, who bear full responsibility for compliance with applicable maritime laws and contractual obligations.

Compliance with Cybercrime Legislation
Vesselglobe shall comply with Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2023 and Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021, and shall implement robust technical and organisational safeguards to prevent cyber offences, including unauthorised access, fraud, data misuse, defamation, and dissemination of false information

Compliance with Commercial Companies Law
As an FZCO, Vesselglobe shall comply with Federal Decree Law No. 32 of 2021 and all applicable Ajman Free Zone regulations governing corporate structure, governance, and statutory obligations

Compliance with E-Commerce Law
All electronic transactions conducted via Vesselglobe shall adhere to Federal Decree Law No. 14 of 2023, ensuring legal validity, enforceability, and regulatory conformity.

Compliance with VAT Legislation
Vesselglobe shall comply with Federal Decree Law No. 8 of 2017, maintain VAT registration where required, and apply VAT to all taxable supplies offered via the platform.

Compliance with AML and CTF Laws
Pursuant to Federal Decree Law No. 20 of 2018, Vesselglobe shall assess and implement AML/CTF obligations, including CDD and STR, where applicable. Users bear responsibility for transactional due diligence.

Compliance with Consumer Protection Law
Vesselglobe shall comply with Federal Law No. 15 of 2020, ensuring transparency, fair dealing, and accessible redress mechanisms in all consumer facing activities.

Compliance with Advertising Regulations
All marketing and advertising content shall conform to UAE advertising standards and shall not include any false, misleading, or unlawful representations.

Compliance with Maritime Regulatory Requirements
Vesselglobe shall observe all applicable maritime directives issued by the FTA. The platform operates strictly as a digital intermediary and assumes no role or liability as a carrier, shipper, or broker under UAE maritime law.

In Compliance With the Following International Conventions:

(I)     General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

(II)    Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006)

(III)  California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

Compliance Policy Updates
Vesselglobe reserves the right to amend this Compliance Policy at any time to reflect changes in applicable laws, regulatory requirements, or internal governance practices. Material modifications shall be published on the platform, and Users shall be notified by email where legally required.
